Is it possible for to keep the weight off after using diet supplements?
If someone was to take a weight loss supplement (e.g. hydroxycut, alli), lose the weight they wanted, and then stopped using the supplement, would they gain all of the weight back? Would maintaining a healthy lifestyle afterward keep the weight off?

How good do you believe Barry Bonds would have been without using steroids or anything else?
He was a good player without anything and it’s a shame he did what he did to tarnish his career in the end. Do you think his stats during his steroids use should be purged or what?

Best answer:

Answer by RAY B
Before the whole steroid mess in the late 90s Bonds was on pace to be one of the greatest all-round players. Steroids killed his speed and once pitchers started pitching around him like crazy his hit and xbase hit totals dropped.
Too bad, but thats was jealousy and money does to some people.

Best answer:

Answer by thedude
for the creatine, depending on bodyweight, you should take about 5 or 6 grams, but remember to cycle on and off of it, and take it before working out
for whey, just mix it w/milk or water and you should be getting about 25 g of protein, take that after you work out

Side affects of using sleeping pills over a long period of time?
I’ve been taking Tylenol Sleep Aid sleeping pills for a while and I take one per night because I can’t sleep through the night. Now, I don’t want to discuss what my problem is, rather I would want to know what are the side affects of using Tylenol Sleep Aid for a long extended period of time. We’re talking about 6 months to year.
Anyone have any ideas?

I used to take Nyquil, but that doesn’t work for me anymore. Now I take 2 Tylenol PM’s almost every night too. It’s just after awhile, you become dependant on it.

What are the advantages of using whey protein after working out?
I am 16 and am currently working out every night, two muscle groups a night. I am very serious about working out and have recently started drinking Whey Protein after working out. What are good drinks to make with it and what are some healthy snacks to eat after working out and during the day?

Best answer:

Answer by Cranky Bear
It’s supposed to provide your muscles with protein and amino acids to help rebuild stretched and torn muscle tissue after your workout, helping you recover quicker and build muscle faster. However, be careful of protein powders such as whey protein. They can contain toxic metals such as arsenic, lead, cadmium, and mercury. Also, your body can only metabolize 5-9 grams of protein per hour. Anything beyond that will either be excreted out, turned into fat, or turned into urea, which can damage the kidneys. This is not to say you don’t need protein, but you can easily have too much. You can get all the protein you need from regular foods like meat, eggs, and milk, and it’s much cheaper too. Keep in mind that protein powders are not regulated by the FDA, and any claims the supplements industry makes are suspect.

When using sleeping pills, why do I wake up three hours after falling asleep?
If I take sleeping pills, I generally wake up three hours later and then I can’t get back to sleep. I wouldn’t take them if I didn’t need them but it looks like they’re slowly becoming useless too.

Why won’t sleeping pills work and why can’t I sleep when I need to?

Best answer:

Answer by Toss that Yeyo and Run
Simply because the effects of most sleeping pills wear off within 3 or 4 hours. Losing effect over time is normal too. There is a drug called Ambien CR that is time released to hopefully keep you asleep the whole night, but many doctors don’t like to prescribe this type of drug and as you noticed with the drugs you are taking, you will build a tolerance fairly quickly and there is a rebound effect where when you stop taking it–you have more trouble sleeping than you did before the treatment began.
